It’s hard to believe, but another year is coming to an end in a few hours. As is tradition in the nerdhut, this is the time to look back at this year’s highlights before celebrating the fast-approaching new year and kicking off another exciting year of content.

YouTube Channel Highlights 2024

The highlight this year was undoubtedly the official nerdhut YouTube channel. Some videos released this year were among the most popular on the channel. I’m particularly proud of the EEZ Studio embedded UI series for Arduino, and I’m sincerely glad that many viewers found them helpful. Working out the intricate details of exporting the UI files, built using EEZ Studio, to a supported Arduino development board was no easy feat. Most of the process was undocumented, and even finding details on which SBCs are supported was nearly impossible at the time. I hope the videos can serve as a valuable reference for many years to come, and I especially hope that they help spare others the frustrating process I had to go through to get the embedded UI up and running. You can (re-)watch the series on the nerdhut YouTube channel or right here:

In a similar vein, we reached a major milestone on the channel: It now officially has over 1,000 subscribers and has qualified for the YouTube partner program!

Finally, gaming videos also briefly returned to the channel this year. Although gaming-related content was not as popular as other videos, I still had a blast making and editing the videos. I understand that it doesn’t directly speak to the channel’s core audience (or this blog in general). Still, gaming has always been a part of the nerdhut, and it’s likely to appear infrequently in small bursts.

Farewell 2024

Unfortunately, I didn’t have as much time to make content for the nerdhut as I wish I had, but I hope the little that made it your way was still beneficial or at least entertaining. Now, all that remains to say is that I hope you thoroughly enjoy the remainder of 2024, and I sincerely want to thank you all for being a part of the nerdhut! It’s mind-blowing to think that I started this website nearly a decade ago, and some original subscribers are still part of it today!

Whether you’re new or a long-time inhabitant of the nerdhut, I appreciate you all being here, and I hope you have a great New Year’s Eve with your friends and loved ones.

Cheers! :)
